Just bought a 2017 GMC 3500 with 5th wheel prep package. Will be towing a 41, 18000 GVW 5th wheel. Should I stay with Curt series and is the A20 sufficient or should I bump up in weight or to the Q version?

For your 2017 GMC 3500 with factory prep package, the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # C16064 will work great for the size trailer you will be towing. This would be my recommendation for your trailer. You may also want to consider the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector # C56000 to add a second working trailer connection to the bed of your truck for easy access and connection.
If you choose to bump up in size for a different trailer application or just to have more peace of mind that your system can handle I recommend the Curt A25 # C16066. I really like the interlocking jaw that the A series offers over the Q series hitch design.
