No, you will not need to remove the bed off of your 2009 GMC Sierra to install the Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # C60712. You will simply slide the crossmembers above the frame of your Sierra and then install them on the brackets that attach to the frame of your truck.
I have attached a video of this installation process being done on a 2002 GMC Sierra for you to check out.
If you do not already have a 7-Way installed in the bed of your Sierra then I also recommend installing the Bargman # 50-97-410 which will make connecting and disconnecting your gooseneck trailer much easier. A sample installation video has been linked for this process as well.
