Question:
Have a small utility trailer that has 14.5 inch MH open rim wheels, 8-14.5 tires I want to change out hubs for standard rim and radial tires. My current hub/spindle Outer-15123/Inner-25580/Seal-22558, Seal shaft 2.25 OD 3.376 I want to run no larger than 15 inch rims and tire size like the ST225/75R15 Hub found that matches my spindle AKIHUB-655-6-K 6 on 5-1/2 however says minimum size is 16 inch wheels. nothing on trailer would prevent running 15 inch wheels, looks like would fit hub, is that recommendation based on load range ? my trailer is smaller not even half the load that the axle would handle so not worried about that just wnat to make sure would phyically fit, larger wheel, tire, may be a littel too big Thanks

The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 6,000-lb Axles - 6 on 5-1/2 # AKIHUB-655-6-K is a confirmed fit for your spindle. I was able to confirm this hub assembly will fit as low as 14-1/2 inch rims, but since you are wanting more standard size, I strongly suggest 15 inch wheels and tires.
I recommend the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" White Vesper Spoke Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - Load Range D # TA23MR. This combination will give you a load rating of 2150 lbs at 65 psi and a speed rating of up to 81 mph. These tires have automotive grade sipes to channel away water and snow to give you improved traction. This tire and wheel come with a 2-Year Platinum Plus warranty that includes emergency tire change service and other benefits.
