Does Curt Gooseneck Hitch # C60712 Fit 2002 GMC Sierra 1500HD 6-1/2 ft Bed

Ive looked at the curt installation manual and they mention their gooseneck hitch as an application for the 1500HD, only the 2500HD and the 3500HD. What is the reason they are saying its a no fit and you are assuring us it fits?

I checked with Curt to verify the fit of the Curt Double Lock Hitch part # C60712 on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 HD with a short bed and they have this hitch listed as a confirmed fit so it would work well for you.
It is odd that this model of truck isn't mentioned in the instructions, but it does for sure fit.
