Will MaxxFan Plus Replace Maxxfan Deluxe

Im thinking of replacing my Maxxfan Deluxe w/rain cover with a Plus unit. My van needs a height reduction of ~1.5inch to get into my parking garage. And the Deluxe with the rain cover is the limiting factor. Will the Plus unit simply into the Deluxe installation ring? Or can I just simply remove the rain guard on the deluxe?

The ceiling garnish between the Deluxe part # MA00-07500K and the MaxxFan Plus # MA00-04500K will be the same, so in that regard the install is very similar but the entire unit (aside from the garnish) would need to come out to install the # MA00-04500K.
