I spoke with my contact at Curt regarding your 1999 Chevy C1500 pickup with the extended cab and standard bumper. He stated that 1999 was a split year for Chevrolet between the C-Series and Silverado, so as long as you do in fact have the C-Series C1500, the correct Class III hitch is the Curt # C13042.
This Class III trailer hitch has a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds and will provide a 2 inch receiver opening. Just note that the spare tire will need to be lowered or removed temporarily during installation. I have attached the complete installation instructions that you can also take a look at.
If you will be doing any towing and you do not yet have a trailer wiring harness installed, I recommend the Tekonsha 4-Pole Hardwire Kit # 18252. This is a hardwire kit that includes quick-splice connectors and a circuit tester to help with the installation. I have included the installation details on this product for you to check out as well.
You will also need a ball mount to tow a trailer. I have attached an article that explains how to choose the correct one for your setup, along with a link that will take you to our available selection.
