Adjusting Power and Boost on Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller 90195

Question:
I recently bought a p3 break controller from you guys and took my new travel trailer out for the first time and am having an issue withe the breaks seeming like they might be dragging slightly and they are very touchy, I was simply slowing down to go through some tolls and the breaks locked up what might be going on here?

The braking force you feel when slowing your trailer with your Prodigy P3 # 90195 is determined by three individual settings: the power level set on the controller, the degree of boost set on the controller and also on the actual adjustment of the drum brakes on the trailer itself.
The trailer's over-sensitive response to your braking action in the Acadia could be due to any of these, or a combination. Since you just recently purchased the Prodigy P3 from us (thank you!) and you are presumably using it with the same trailer you've been towing, odds are that you just need to dial back the power and/or boost settings on the Prodigy.
On the P3 brake controller # 90195 you will first set the power to the brakes before setting any boost setting. Set the output to 6 then tow the trailer in an empty parking lot at 25 miles per hour and fully apply the manual override (without using the brake pedal).
If the brakes lock up then adjust the power down. If they don't lock up adjust the power up. You want the brakes to be at a point just under lockup.
Then you can select boost. Boost starts the braking at a higher amount of power instead of ramping up from zero. Push the boost button, upper right button. On the display you should see B1, B2, B3, or nothing. Nothing means no boost and B3 is the most aggressive boost setting.
