Heaviest Duty A-Frame Coupler Recommendation for Utility Trailer
Published 08/18/2017 >
Question:
I have a commercial 2 axle 16 foot heavy trailer. The tongue has been torque and bent with years of jack knife backing. I want to weld up a new one Straight and stronger. I want to weld in a coupler. The ball sizes of my other trailers are 2 5/8. What is the largest, meanest, most heavy duty coupler I can get?

The highest capacity coupler we have for an A-frame trailer like what you have is the part # BD44150W0317 which has a 15k capacity and a heavy-duty cast head that is build like a tank. This would be your best option.
This also fits the standard hitch ball diameter of 2-5/16 which I believe is what you have since 2-5/8 is not a standard size.
