Question:
I have a 2017 Ram 3500 Megacab 6-4 short bed and a Northstar truck camper. I would like to tow a boat or trailers...all will weigh less than 5k pounds. I believe I will need an extension of around 32 to 36 inches. What would you recommend to tow safely?

Expert Reply:
If you have a 2-1/2 inch hitch receiver on your 2017 Ram 3500, I recommend the Curt Hitch Extension and Reducer for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches - 24" to 34" Long # C45048. This would be limited to 4,500 lbs without weight distribution or 6000 lbs with weight distribution.
If you don't have a factory receiver, then you will need the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V Commercial Duty - 2-1/2" # C15803 to use that extension.
