Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution Makes Noise when Taking Sharp Turns
Updated 07/27/2017 | Published 07/25/2017 >
Question:
I recently purchased the Curt Trutrack Weight Distribution System - 10k. I have a 2015 Crew Max Toyota Tundra and I am pulling a Lance model 1995 trailer.. all within specs of the tongue weight and tow capacity of the hitch. The pull is very smooth and level now, but I am noticing on some turns that I hear a loud click in the hitch. I assume it is the bearing that controls the sway?? Just wondering if this loud click is normal on some sharper turns, or if I may have something that needs adjusting? Thanks.

What you are hearing with your Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW Item # C17500 is normal. Weight distribution systems with built-in sway control are noisy when turning because the sway control feature is providing resistance. Since this is a friction sway control system there is metal on metal contact so when it's working it will make noise.
