Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Platform Rack Item # KU74FR accepts tires up to 3 inches wide right out of the box. Using the Phat Bike Adapter Kit for Kuat Bike Racks Item # APBK increases it to 4-1/2 inches.
To be clear the wheel cradles as they come will hold up to a 4-1/2 inch tire but the included straps are not long enough to secure anything over 3 inches in width. If the tires are between 3 and 4-1/2 inches then you would need the adapter.
