Troubleshooting Brake Controller That Doesn't Power Up on 2000 Ford F-250

Per your video “Trailer Brake Controller Installation – 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty” I have installed the • Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles – Proportional Part number: 10195 and the, • Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Part number: 3035-P on my 2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty. The display does not light up at all. Where should I go from here? NOTE: • The 7-wire plug I am using is not the OEM 7-wire plug that came with the trailer towing package option on the truck. The black wire of the controller is the one that carries power, and the white is the one that carries ground. Those two wires are the ones associated with powering the brake controller up.

Most likely you have a blown brake controller fuse or relay under the hood of your truck. Check all fuses related to that and I bet you'll find it's blown.

Other option is to run 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 from the positive post of the controller to the black wire of the controller to bypass all of the vehicle wiring.
