When you turn the handle clockwise, does the drum turn counter clockwise? Is it the same size as the B1500currently on lift?

To answer your second question first the Dutton-Lainson Heavy Duty Brake Winch, TUFFPLATE Finish, Self-Locking, 1-5/16" Drum - 2,500 lbs Item # DL10786 is a B2500 so it is not exactly the same as a B1500. I have included a manufacturer's diagram showing the measurements of the B2500.
To pull a load in you will turn the handle clockwise so the drum would move in the opposite direction to pull the load in. It operates the same as the B1500 that you have now.
