Question:
Would the Erickson clamps work to attach rocket box rack to bed rail? rack base is 2x2 angle iron resting on bed rail

The Erickson Clamps for Truck Bed Toppers - 3-3/4" Long x 1-1/4" Wide x 3" Tall - Qty 2 # EM09453 you mentioned will secure anything that will fit under the clamps to the bed rail of your truck when the mounting is parallel to your bed rail. If your angle iron has a base that connects them so there is a parallel frame, then 2 clamps on either side should secure your angle iron frame so your Rocket Box will fit onto it.
I do not recommend using the clamps to hold just the bars perpendicular to the bed. Load shifting can easily cause the clamps to fail under those circumstances.
