I am preparing to install my Stay-In-Play and auto battery disconnect switch in my 2016 Edge AWD. The instructions for the switch RM-766 say to install it on the positive battery side, while Ford requires me to disconnect the negative terminal. Q: can the switch be used on the negative side? Thanks for your help

It's not ideal for that as it's designed to charge the circuit it is installed on so it wouldn't work.
A great option would then be the part # DW05312 which you would install on the negative battery post and it would give you an easy way to disconnect the circuit.
