Hitch Coupler Repair Kit and Replacement Coupler for Harbor Freight Trailer

Question:

I have a Harbor Freight trailer that has a coupler that, from what I can glean, is made by Haul-Master. It takes a 1 7/8inch ball. I need a kit to replace the mechanism that grabs and holds the ball. What kit would work for me, please?

We do offer coupler repair kits for many of the top brands of couplers like Titan, Dico, Demco and others but the unit supplied on your Harbor Freight trailer is typically going to be a bargain type that may not have repair parts available. That is one reason such trailers often cost less. If you can find a brand name and/or part number on the coupler that may help us find out if one of our repair kits could work.

If you prefer to simply bolt-on a new coupler we can help with that. Please refer to the linked page that displays all straight-tongue couplers for 1-7/8-inch hitch balls. Select the size of your trailer tongue and the trailer's weight capacity to see suitable options. For a 2-inch channel tongue you can use part # DL23870 which is rated for 2000-lbs.
