Question:
I have 2000 Sundowner horse trailer and a 2013 GMC 3500 Sierra with duals. The problem is the wires in the trailer plug keep coming apart, I have looked at many ways to rewire it to get to work and have been unsuccessful. The wires I have in the trailer harness are Brown, Black Yellow, Green, Blue and Red. The plug has 6 terminal blades inside the the wires can be attached to with tiny screw. They dont hold very well. Its the standard set up I believe. There is one central round terminal that none of the wires attached to. What is the wiring order to make this work properly so I have my trailer brakes, brake lights, turn signals, running lights etc..., ?? I really do not want to take this back to a shop every time this happens. It is an easy fix if I know the order. Also is there a way to to crimp some ends on tho the wires and have them slide on to the terminal ends instead of screw on??. Seems would be much easier. i have large hands and a mild tremor sometimes it can be trying.

For your application, I can absolutely give you the wiring function locations. I've attached a picture to assist. Based on what you mentioned, I think I have a better option for you. I recommend the Epicord 7-Way Molded Trailer Plug with Junction Box - 10' Long # 277-000141. This will allow you to connect your wiring at a junction box using the ring terminals like # 44-5310A, and then uses a molded plug so you won't have the disconnection issues as you plug and unplug your 2000 Sundowner Horse Trailer from your 2013 GMC Sierra 3500 Dually.
