Towed Vehicle Braking System Options for Flat-Towed 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Considering SMI tow vehicle braking system. I have an RV with air brakes. The SMI version with Air brakes is a more complex install to tap into RV brakes. The stay and play duo is all within the tow vehicle. two questions - why would I want to consider the air brake option? Is it a safe assumption that the stay and play duo will work just fine? Additionally I may trade the coach and wouldnt have to uninstall the air brake components from the RV

The main benefit of tapping into the RV air brakes for a toad braking setup is that there is a direct connection between the motorhome braking and the towed vehicle's braking. There is no time delay and there are no sensors that need to react to changes to the vehicle's inertia before they do anything. In short, there is synchronization between the two braking systems. As you noted, installation of such systems is a lot more intrusive and complicated.

Since you have intentions to trade in the motorhome I would suggest going for a portable system like the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400. This avoids the complex install (and the potential gripes about modifications to the coach when you go to trade it in) and it will also be able to remain with you throughout your future travels since it can be moved to your next towed vehicle when that times comes. You would just need outlet kit # RM-9332 to provide operating power.

All supplementary braking systems recommended for your 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited are shown on the linked page.
