Question:

I do not mind making different size holes in the box... can they be adapted? Or any other of the quick mounting systems? The original is just so hard to put on and take off. Thank you

I spoke with my contact at Thule and she did mention the Thule QM3 Quick On-Off Mounting Hardware Kit, part # TH04997. This is a quicker on and off system for the Adventurer cargo box. The difference with this system compared to the original mounting system is that this kit has the swing-away brackets underneath the vehicles crossbars. When the knobs are loosened you are able to swing the bracket away from one of the bolts under the crossbars and remove the cargo box from the crossbars.

My Thule contact did say that the Thule Replacement Quick Grip Mount Assembly, part # TH05738, would not be recommended because it works in conjunction with a rail that is already installed in the cargo box. She said they do not offer that rail as a separate item and the Adventurer cargo box does not have that rail.
