Expert Reply:
When installing the solenoid for the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766 on your Chevrolet Silverado, you will just want to find a spot under the hood, within reach of the battery. Also keep in mind that the solenoid will need to be grounded, either by attaching it to a metal surface or by using the included white ground wire.
One red cable, which will be labeled "battery post" coming from the solenoid will go to the positive battery post in your vehicle. The other red cable, which will be labeled "battery cable" will connect to the original positive cable going to the Silverado's battery.
I have also attached the installation details for you to check out.
