Hi, I have a 2017 f350 SRW but it doesnt have the factory prep package. I know I want a slider, but I would like to have a clean bed when not pulling a trailer. I also would ask how much space will I have between the front of the bed and the front of the slider so that I can find the biggest fuel tank that will fit? It is a short bed, by the way. Looking at the RDS 72743PC, which is 55L x 20W x 19H. Thanks so much.

The setup I would recommend is the Demco Hijacker Auto Slide part # DM8550022 with the rail kit part # DM8551009 for your 2017 Ford F-350 without the factory tow package.
This is a slider hitch that will automatically slide back as you make tight turns which is a very nice feature as getting out and activating a slider mechanism can be a hassle. Especially in inclement weather.
The rail kit mentioned is an underbed kit so your bed will be clean and free of large rails when you remove the hitch. Also, this hitch does not occupy much space at all forward of the front rail it installs in so it would give you great clearance for a tool box.
