Question:
What Class I, 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack would you recommend for a Draw-tite 24808 on a 2009 Prius? Two bike rack, only.

Expert Reply:
Since the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 24808, on your 2009 Toyota Prius is a Class I, 1-1/4 hitch, you will need a light weight bike rack that extends out far enough to clear the rear of the vehicle. I recommend the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Carrier, # S63360. This is a 2 bike rack that is compatible with a Class I, 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch. It weighs under 30 pounds and can even tilt down to give you more access to the rear of the vehicle.
I have included a link to the installation details for this rack. To lock the rack to the hitch, I recommend adding the Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman Hitch Racks, # S64029. Not only will this deter rack theft, it will also aid in eliminating rattling. To lock the bikes to the rack, you can use a cable lock like # e98891.
