Question:
I just bought a travel trailer that has ST225/75R15 load range D tires. It needs new tires, but tire stores here locally carry ST225/75R15 load range E tires in stock. Are the dimensions the same and would it be ok to go with the higher load rating? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
It is okay to step up from load range D to load range E tires. The dimensions are the same just the sidewall ply rating is different. The load range D tires are rated 8 ply and the range E tires are rated 10 ply. Moving one size is not an issue.
If you want to compare prices, we have both load range D tires like the Taskmaster Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # TTWTRTM2257515D and the Kenda Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # AM10303.
We also have tire and wheel combinations in load ranges D and E that come ready to install:
The Kenda Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Tire with 15" White Spoke Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2" - Load Range D # AM32545
The Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Tire with 15" White Spoke Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2" - Load Range E # AM32680
