Question:

I have a Class V receiver on my Ford F350 Super Duty. I have a 2-1/2inch receiver and the hitch/ball is mounted to the receiver with two pins. I would need 3 BX88212 pins to secure my hitch to my receiver and ball to hitch. Can I get 3 of these that are keyed alike? Are these pins strong enough to handle the weight or a 15,000 lb. trailer? 2 pins would hold the ball mechanism to the hitch and the other would keep the hitch from coming out of the receiver. We do have a way for you to lock your ball mount to your hitch receiver but unfortunately, the Blue Ox # BX88212 is not able to be keyed alike.

For another solution,our etrailer.com lock # e98881 fits 2-1/2 inch Class V hitch receivers and can be keyed alike. Just select the drop down to do so on the product page when ordering.

Hitch pins don't actually bear any of the trailer's weight so they are not given a weight rating. They are tested to be used with a Class V hitch and therefore will not have an issue with your 15,000 pound trailer.
