Recommended Roof Rack And Kayak Carrier For 2012 Acura MDX

Question:

Looking for a kayak rack for my naked roof 2012 Acura MDX. The kayak I am getting is 14 ft 6 inches. The yakama rack I am looking at says 14 length max. Am I going to be ok? Also any way to help swing up the boat with an aero bar ed... thanks

Since you have a naked roof on your MDX you will first need a roof rack. I recommend the Yakima Jetstream roof rack. To order this roof rack you will need part # Y00426, part # Y28TR, part # Y06150, and part # Y06151.

The kayak carrier I recommend is the Yakima JayLow, part # Y04073. This is a side-loading carrier that can be folded down when you aren't carrying your kayak. This carrier comes with tie-down straps and bow and stern tie-downs. The carrier has built-in ramps that make loading and unloading the kayak easier.
