Question:

Can I flat tow a 2016 Kia Sorrento all wheel drive behind my RV? It has an automatic transmission. Thanks??

I did some online research of your 2016 Sorento with the all wheel drive.

On page 6-25 of your owner's manual it states the vehicle must be towed with a wheel lift and dollies or on a flatbed with all four wheels off the ground. It cannot be towed with all four wheels on the ground or damage to the transaxle or AWD system could occur.

I recommend using a tow dolly like part # RM-2050-1. The tow dolly has electric brakes so you will need a brake controller like part # 90195 for the towing vehicle. I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring for a brake controller is run.

You will also need to convert the 4-way on the tow dolly to a 7-way. I recommend the Hopkins 7-Way Molded Trailer Connector, part # H20046. For a much neater installation I also recommend mounting a junction box like part # 38656 to the trailer. This makes it much easier to change the wiring on the trailer.
