Question:

I have a 2015 Subaru Outback with the standard factory cross bars. I am looking for a roof bike rack that will attach directory to the factory crossbars, preferably wheel mount, for my fatbike with 4.8inch tires. If there is one that could also accommodate my 29ear that would be even better. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

We do in fact have several options for a roof-rack-mounted fat bike carrier that will work on the factory crossbars on your 2015 Subaru Outback. All are shown on the linked page.

Among these are a number with your preferred wheel-mount design, such as the Rhino-Rack Hybrid # RRRBC050-FB which is shown in the linked review and installation videos. The Hybrid accepts fat tires up to 5-inches wide, it includes locks for the rack itself and for your bike, it works with 29-inch wheels and is compatible with disc brakes.

You could also consider the RockyMounts TomaHawk # RKY1222 which also fits on factory bars, accepts 5-inch wide tires and 29-inch wheels. You can add a lock kit # RKY0332 to secure the bike to the rack and the rack to the vehicle.
