Question:
I want to use my OEM controller in my 2013 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 single rear axle to control my boat trailer brakes. The brakes are now, surge Kodiac Disc. Would you please give me options of actuators and break away kits that will be compatible with my OEM controller without issues. Such as lag, etc. Also, do you sell wholesale to Boat dealers on a cash basis? Thank you

For some reason Ford and GM/Chevy OEM brake controllers tend to have a hard time working with brake actuators. Fortunately I have a solution for you from HydraStar.
If your boat trailer is not already equipped with a 7-Way you can use the HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator w/ Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness # HS381-9067 along with the Adapter Module # HBA-CAM. The adapter will allow the HydraStar actuator to work with your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado OEM brake controller. This kit will also give you everything that you will need to get your brake controller to work with your hydraulic disc brake setup. Keep in mind that even though the junction box is weatherproof, it would be wise to install it in a place where it will not be submerged.
If you already have a 7-Way wiring harness on your trailer then all you will need is the Actuator # HBA16, the Adapter # HBA-CAM, and a Breakaway Kit # 20099. You will also want to hardwire the blue wire from the actuator into the 7 O'Clock position pin (when looking at the harness head-on. It will be the 5 O'Clock position when looking at it from behind.). I have attached a helpful article that has a demonstration of this for you.
