Question:
Hi etrailer experts, Thank you for confirming the hitch for the 2017 VW GTI for another customer. There doesnt seem to be confirmation of a proper wiring harness for this vehicle... Is that correct? Do you expect one to come into existence? Thanks so much -

I checked with Curt and they do recommend the universal fit trailer wiring harness part # C56236 as a fit for your 2017 Volkswagen GTI as a fit. This is a universal fit harness though that will require some hardwiring.
The other option is the no-splice Tekonsha kit part # 119250KIT which uses sensors to tap into the taillight wiring instead of requiring splicing.
The Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C11412 is a confirmed fit as well and would work great. For a ball mount you would want the part # C45572 for a 2 inch ball or part # C45571 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.
