Question:
Hello, recently I tore off the scissor jacks from the rear bumper of my 5th wheel. My fifth wheel weighs 6500lbs dry. approximately 8500 fully loaded. What weight rating should my replacement scissor jacks be?

Expert Reply:
Scissor jacks are only intended to stabilize the trailer and therefore do not need to be rated for the entire weight of it. I recommend the # TJSCHD-24 jacks which are rated for a combined 5,000 pounds.
