How Can Surco RV Bunk Ladder Be Shortened From 60 To 48-Inches

Question:
How much can be cut off the bottom of this ladder? The ladder I need only needs to be 48inch top hooks to bottom feet.

The bottom rung on the Surco RV Bunk Ladder, part # SP503B is 12-inches from the bottom.
You can remove the bottom caps and the bottom rung and cur the ladder to your desired height. The bottom rung cannot be installed on the ladder legs other than in the places designated for the rung. After you get the desired length you can just re-install the bottom caps
