Helpful Expert Reply:
The HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit # HS381-9066 will work on single-tandem- or triple axle trailers. It will take in an electrical signal from a compatible brake controller such as the Prodigy P3 # 90195 and convert that to hydraulic pressure that will engage hydraulic drum brakes. The kit includes wiring, a junction box and breakaway too.
Your F-550 will need to have a 7-way trailer socket to accept the 7-way plug included in the kit. If it has a factory 7-way you can install the Prodigy controller using the plug-in wiring adapter # 3034-P. If not you can use our controller install kit # ETBC7 which has all the parts needed to hardwire the controller and install a 7-way.
