Question:

I recently purchased a demco recon hitch from you it is being shipped now and the trailer I just purchased has a reese revolution pin box. Therefore, I assumed I did not need a slider type hitch for my 2012 GMC 2500hd denali. Then I read where the reese revolution pin box was not compatible with the Curt Q series hitches. This raised my concern about the compatibility of demco recon hitch that I just purchased even though nothing was mentioned about this issue when I ordered it by phone.

You are correct that the Curt Q Series fifth wheel hitches, like # C16245, are not compatible with a Sidewinder or Revolution pin box because the spherical axial bearing that allows the pivoting of the hitch head.

The Demco Recon # DM8550043 that you purchased does not have this issue and will work great with a Sidewinder or Revolution. For the install kit into your 2012 GMC Sierra you'll want # DM8552011-71.
