Question:
I have a 2017 Honda CRV with a Honda 1 7/8in hitch. Problem is my accessories all fit a 2 in hitch that Honda does not make for the CRV. I need a 1 7/8 inch to 2 in adapter. Help?

The standard hitch receiver sizes are 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch. It sounds to me like you have a 1-1/4 inch receiver and you're measuring outside to outside. The 2 inch and 1-1/4 inch measurements are inside to inside of the opening.
A hitch adapter that will fit a 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver and expand to a 2 inch is the Brophy # HTAD. This will also extend your hitch by 7-1/4 inches. Also, the accessory you're using on the adapter cannot be more than 3-3/8 inches long from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the shank that slides into the hitch.
Another issue with using an adapter is that it will reduce your overall tongue capacity by 50 percent. So if your CR-V's tongue weight is currently 200 pounds using the adapter will make it only 100 pounds. Depending on what type of accessory you're using this isn't a lot.
Another option is to replace the hitch with a 2 inch hitch receiver like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame # 76128. This will keep you from needing the adapter and reducing your Honda's tongue weight.
