Replacement Wheels/Tires for a 2005 Fleetwood Resolute Popup Camper

Updated 02/28/2017 | Published 02/26/2017

Question:

I am looking to replace my wheels/tires on my 2005 Fleetwood Resolute popup camper. The current tires are ST175/80 D13 rated for 1,360 lbs at 50psi max. Most common usage is driving 1-4 hours highway and then on rough 4x4 roads to a campspot. Any advice on a good setup? Having a hard time negotiating radial vs. bias. Attached is a pic of the current wheels/tires that Im looking to replace. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have the solution for your wheel and tires on your trailer.

For your application, I recommend using a radial tire over the bias ply tire. Radial as designed for the speed and heat generated during highway travel. Radial tires will flex more than a bias tire, giving radials better traction and stability. Radial tires tend to run cooler than bias tires. Heat is then main cause of tire failure on trailer tires. Therefore, the cooler running radial tires will last longer.

I recommend the Taskmaster Tire and Wheel, # TA43RR, for your trailer. The wheel and tire assembly has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern and is fitted with a ST175/80R13 radial tire. The wheel is a mod wheel in a white finish. This tire will give you excellent traction on both pavement and ground. The tire is a 6-ply with a C load range rating that its maximum load is rated 1,360 lbs at 50 psi.

We also carry this tire and wheel assembly, # A13RSMQ, in a silver mod wheel.
