Recommended Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for 2012 Acura TSX

The trailer hitches that are designed for the 2012 Acura TSX are all Class I hitches. This is most likely because this vehicle is not rated to support the heavier loads that a Class II or greater hitch is capable of towing.

Since you have a Sport Wagon model, the only confirmed trailer hitch to fit your vehicle is the Curt Class I Round Tube Receiver Hitch # C11085. This has a 200 pound tongue weight and 2,000 pound towing weight capacity. This is a custom fit hitch for your vehicle, so no drilling will be required during installation as you will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame. Curt also requires that all non-trailer loads like bike racks be supported with stabilizing straps like # 18050. I have attached an installation video of this trailer hitch for your review.

There are a number of hitch mounted bike racks that will fit with a Class I trailer hitch. Just keep in mind that with a Class I hitch, you will only be able to carry up to 2 bikes on a hitch mounted rack. I recommend the Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack # TH9058. This is a very nice hanging 2-bike rack with a weight capacity of 75 pounds. The great thing about this rack is that once the bikes are unloaded, you can tilt the rack away from your vehicle to allow for rear cargo access without removing the bike rack. I also recommend a cable lock like the Thule # TH538XT to secure your bikes to the rack.

Lastly, if you plan on carrying any children's bikes or bikes with alternative frames, you will need an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01 in order to keep the bikes level on the hanging rack.
