Vented Battery Box Recommendation for Inside Enclosed Trailer

Updated 02/15/2017 | Published 02/14/2017

Question:

Hello. I have a 8x16 enclosed trailer. I would like to hppk up a battery and run a power inverter to run tv,stereo, computer etc. I was planning on using a 1000w inverter. I know I need a deep cycle battery and was planning on the battery being inside under the front counter. Do i need a sealed battery or would it be fine with a regular deep cycle if it is in a battery box. Also what do you recommend for charging?

If you went with a vented battery box like the # TWSP12B you could have it vented outside and not have to worry about using a sealed battery. Otherwise a sealed battery would be best option.

There's no easy or fully effective way to charge a trailer battery while towing but a charger like the CTEK 7002 part # CTEK56353 would work well to charge the battery between trips or at a campground.
