Snow Tire Chains Recommendation for 2016 Jeep Wranger Unlimited

Updated 02/13/2017 | Published 02/11/2017

Question:

Will the Pewag PWXMR82V snow chains fit my 2016 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited, Factory tire size LT255/75/R17 without having any clearance issues? What is the minimum amount of clearance need for these chains? As suggested by one of your sales people, I contacted Pewag direct and they did not know much at all, no help. Maybe you can give me some advice. Thanks,

The Pewag Brenta-C Snow Tire Chains, part # PWXMR82V, referenced in your question are a confirmed fit for your 255-75-17 tires but they are not Class S compatible. I checked the owner's manual for your 2016 Jeep Wranger Unlimited and it does state that it is recommended to use chains that have a Class S specification. The links on the Pewag Tire Chains are 4.5mm in wire diameter, so this will be about how far they will stick out from the tread of your tire.

I instead recommend the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains, part # TC2326. These are Class S compatible and confirmed to fit the tires on your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited without any clearance issues. The square links form cross chains which provide great traction in the snow and solid grip and stopping power on ice. Keep in mind that your owner's manual also states to only place chains on the rear tires of your vehicle. I have included a video review of this product for you to check out.
