Question:
Is there going to be a problem if I get a Blue Ox tow bar and a Roadmaster base plate? Will they match up correctly?

Expert Reply:
Adapters are available to allow joining a base pate from one maker with a tow bar from another. This does add cost and some additional degree of complexity but so long as the items used are correct there is no safety concern. But if you use one maker for both you will save some money and have a simpler set-up.
If for example you had Blue Ox base plate # BX2246 on your 2011 CR-V and wanted to use a Roadmaster tow bar you would use adapter # RM-031 or # RM-031-5.
You can refer to the linked article for help selecting the required adapter.
