Since the dimensions of the crossbars on your 2006 Trailblazer roof rack are not given, the best way to find a kayak carrier that will work for you is to take a quick measurement of the crossbars. Measure the height and the width of the bars.
If your crossbars measure smaller than 3-1/2 inches wide and 1-11/16 inches tall I recommend the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier, part # Y04073. This carrier can handle an 80-lb kayak and folds down when not being used. The carrier comes with tie-down straps for the bow and stern and straps to secure the kayak to the carrier.
To secure the carrier to the roof rack you can use the Yakima Same Key System, part # Y07202.
It can be difficult to find a place on a vehicle to secure the bow and stern of the kayak. I really like the anchors that come in the etrailer Kayak Tie-Down Kit # e36ZR. This kit have anchors that go inside your hood or trunk. Just attach them to the bow and stern tie-downs and secure them in the rear hatch and the hood of the Trailblazer.
