Question:
I have two Hobie Outback kayaks. One is a 2018 model measuring 12’1”L x 33”W and weighing 81 lbs and 100 lbs fully outfitted. The second is a 2019 Model measuring 12’ 9” L x 34” W and weighing 85 lbs and 103 fully outfitted. I have been comparing Yakima Rack and Roll 78” vs Malone Microsport XT. Which do you recommend and what mounts do you recommend? Thanks.

Both the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08107 and Malone MicroSportXT Trailer # MPG460XT will work for you to carry your two Hobie kayaks, but I recommend the MicroSport XT because it is the better value of the two trailers.
The biggest difference between the two trailers is that the Rack and Roll has independent suspension, while the MicroSportXT has a leaf spring suspension. This is going to give the Rack and Roll a bit of a better ride, but that alone doesn't make up for the gap in price between the two. Everything the Yakima trailer can do, so can the Malone, and at a better price point, which is why I recommend the Malone MicroSportXT Trailer # MPG460XT.
For a carrier that will work I recommend two of the Malone MegaWing Fishing Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs # MPG207.
With a 150 lb capacity, this is one of the few carriers with the capacity to haul your Hobie Outback kayaks, and will keep them completely secure on the square crossbars of the MicroSportXT Trailer # MPG460XT.
I have added links to video reviews of the trailers and carrier for you to check out as well.
