Can Older Model Eaz Lift Weight Distribution System be Upgraded with Higher Rated Bars

Question:

I have an eaz lift round bar WDH. It has the discontinued 550 lb bars. Eaz lift is telling me their new bars wont fit in that old head, but I cant see how they wouldnt and Ive read reviews on amazon where people have. Is there any truth to what eaz lift is telling me? I need to upscale to 1000 lb bars but dont need or want to buy a whole new hitch just to uprate the bars. P.S., I think I bought this about 9 years ago from your store.

Although we do not carry Eaz Lift products, I did speak with someone there and she informed that the new weight distribution bars will not fit with older model weight distribution hitches because on the newer design the head of the bars are a little bigger and the locking slot is a bit lower.

If you want to upgrade your weight distribution system without spending too much, I recommend the Fastway e2 # FA92-00-1200. This system has a tongue weight capacity of 1200 lbs and you would just need to add a compatible hitch ball like the Equal-i-zer # EQ91-00-6120
