Question:
I have a boat trailer with 12inch wheels and want to know if I can install the 2200lb hubs that show 13-15inch wheels capacity. Does it matter if a go a little larger on the hub for a 12inch wheel?

Expert Reply:
On your boat trailer with 12 inch wheels, if you want to install 2200 lb hubs that show a 13-15 inch wheel capacity, your ride may be effected or you may have difficulty installing the wheels as the face of the hub is sized differently. I recommend using 2200 lb hubs that are a fit for your 12 inch wheels like the Trailer Hub for 2,000-lb and 2,200-lb Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - 8" - 12" Wheels - Galvanized # 8-259-50 or # 8-259-50UC1-EZ for an EZ Lube axle.
