Question:
Hi, I have a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox Premier edition, 4 cylinder. I am interested in the Carpod walled cargo carrier. Would I be able to use that on this car? Thank you.

Per the owner's manual for your 2017 Equinox, the towing capacity of your vehicle is 1,500-lbs.
When using any hitch mounted items like the Carpod, you are limited at 10 to 15 percent of the towing capacity which would be betwen 150 and 225 lbs maximum.
The Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier like part # M2205-2201 weighs 54-lbs so you need to consider that in with the cargo when calculating the tongue weight. I have attached a link to our product page for the Carpod walled carriers we offer. I recommend the folding carrier because the non-folding carrier like part # M2200 has only got 4-inches of clearacnce from the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier.
All of these carriers will work with a 2-inch trailer hitch receiver. If you do not have a trailer hitch on your Equinox I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch, part # e98865. This is a Class lll hitch and it has a 2-inch receiver opening.
