The Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH6358B will properly fit onto the Rhino-Rack Crossbars # RRVA126B-2 for your 2012 BMW X3. The maximum crossbar dimensions for the Thule Cargo Box to mount properly are 3-1/2 inches wide and 1-11/16 inches tall. The Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar dimensions are smaller than both of those measurements (3-1/8 inches wide, 1-3/16 inches tall). There will be no issue with mounting the cargo box onto the crossbars.
Also, it is important to note that in order for you to have full rear cargo area access on your 2012 BMW X3 there should be at least 51-1/8 inches of clearance between the front roof rack crossbar and the line where the roof and hatch meet. A clearance smaller than that length will hinder you from fully opening the rear cargo door without coming into contact with the cargo box.

Lastly just keep in mind that when considering any type of roof cargo box, you want to be aware of your vehicle's roof weight capacity. Depending on this capacity, a larger, heavier box may actually cost you cargo space because the weight of the box (along with the roof rack already in place) may limit the amount you can store in the cargo box when considering what the vehicle's roof can safely hold. You can check the vehicle's manual for this weight capacity information.
