Can A Kats Thermal Battery Wrap Be Plugged In for Long Periods of Time

Updated 12/12/2016 | Published 12/11/2016

Question:

How long can you keep a Katz battery blanket plugged in? Do you just leave it in all the time, or turn in on for short periods? I was reading and watching your review and need a few of the blankets for my vehicles. However, the video doesnt indicate a thermostat on the blanket, so will it overheat or damage the battery if left plugged in all the time?

I contacted the manufacturer of the Kat's Heaters Thermal Battery Warp # KH22200 and they told me that the blanket could be plugged in overnight if the outside temp is below 32 degrees. However, they told me if the temp rises over freezing, then you should only use the thermal wrap only a couple of hours before you need to use the vehicle.

They also suggested using a timer on the Kat's Heater. By using the timer you will be able turn the power on and off to the wrap with out leaving the confines of the house.
