Tire Chain Recommendation for 2016 Ram 1500 with 275/60R20 Tires

Question:

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 QC and I am looking for tire chains. I have the 27560R20 tires. I am concerned about the clearance of the brake parts. Is there a tire chain for my application with little room?

For your truck tire size of 275/60R20 the Titan Tire Chains part # TC2533 are going to be your best option. These chains install easily, provide great traction, and are priced great. The clearance required is less than the larger chains as well.

Be sure to check the owners manual of your truck to see if there are any tire chain restrictions for your vehicle.

I attached an install video for these chains on a similar 2016 Ram as yours as well.

Do you put chains on the steer tires also?

Your vehicle's owner's manual will specify which axle tire chains can be installed on (it could be both). Typically it's the primary drive axle but this can sometimes vary depending on wheel well clearance, etc. If you can let me know what model vehicle you drive I'd be happy to locate this for you as well.

front 265 vs. 285 /70 R17 on 2015 Ram 1500 SLT ...? is there enough clearance for either size front tire? Control arm seems very close to tire.

That's a question for your local tire shop or dealer. We can give advice on trailer tire clearances because trailer suspensions are very simple. When it comes to vehicle suspensions they are more compact and going with larger tires could interfere with brake lines and such.
