It seems to me that the guide in the back of the pontoon trailer would be too deep in the water to help guide the boat.

The CE Smith Bunk Style Guide-Ons for Pontoon Boat Trailers # CE27671 do offer two choices of mounting height, but if you prefer a taller guide-on you might prefer the post-style units shown on the linked page. We offer these in many heights from 16-inch # FBGR200101 up to 75-inch # CE27636. You can select your preferred size using the filters on the page.
