Is the base plate for the 2009 Honda Fit compatible with tow bars that are not Roadmaster? What wiring would I need for the 2009 Fit? Thanks.

The Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit # 521190-1 for the 2009 Honda Fit will work with other brands of towbars as long as you use a Roadmaster base plate adapter.

I have the RoadMaster Base Plates to Duncan, Karbar and EazAligner Tow Bars Adapter # RM-038. This adapter will let you use the Roadmaster base plates with the Duncan Towmatic II, Karbar and EazAligner Tow Bars.

I also have the Roadmaster Base Plate to Tow Ready Tow Bar Adapter # RM-025. This adapter will let you use the Roadmaster base plates with the Draw-Tite, Reese, Valley, EAZ-Lift and Tow Ready tow bars.

The other adapter is the RoadMaster Base Plate to Blue Ox and Demco Tow Bars Adapter # RM-032. This adapter will let you use the Roadmaster base plates with the Blue Ox and Demco tow bars.

I am including a video link that will show the Roadmaster base plates being installed on a 2010 Honda Fit.

The tow wiring harness you will need for your 2009 Honda Fit is the RoadMaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, # RM-154. On your 2009 Honda Fit with the 3-wire system (separate brake and turn signals) this wiring kit will use the vehicles brake lights to function as both brake and turn signals.

I am including a video link to the RoadMaster wiring kit # RM-154 being installed on a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The vehicle is different but the wiring principle is the same.
