Question:
Can i install the p3 with heavy duty Velcro rather that drill through the underside of dash or will this adversely affect the unit?

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 can be installed in any position in the vertical plane but must also remain level horizontally and pointed in the direction of travel. So long as you can meet this requirements with your Velcro installation you'll be fine. Please refer to the linked diagram for illustration of how the P3 needs to be positioned for proper operation.
